## Biography

Dave Finnegan is an Irish actor best known for playing Mickah Wallace in the 1991 film *The Commitments*, directed by Alan Parker. A rockabilly busker from Crumlin, Dublin, he was cast after auditions that included a test of his aggression matching the character's truculence.

Finnegan has appeared in other films including *Into the West* (1992) as the Car Man, *The Spirit of Edradour* (2015) as Angel, and *Because We Are Too Many* (2024) as Gerry. He has also performed in *The Clan MacLeod*. Following the film, he toured with fellow cast members as part of Commitments-related acts and now leads his own soul band, Dave Finnegan’s Commitments, performing around 15 gigs a year. He lives in Glasgow.
