## Biography

David Alexander (23 December 1914 – 6 March 1983) was an American television director. Born in New York, he directed episodes of numerous popular 1960s series, including *The Munsters* (1964), *Get Smart* (1965), *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* (1964), *F Troop* (1965) and *Petticoat Junction* (1963). He also directed two episodes of *Star Trek: The Original Series* in its third season: 'Plato's Stepchildren' (1968) and 'The Way to Eden' (1969).

Earlier in his career, Alexander directed on Broadway, including the 1951 production of *The King of Friday's Men* and the 1952 revival of the musical *Pal Joey*, which had the longest run of any musical revival on Broadway at the time.
