## Biography

David Barron is a British film producer. Born on 21 February 1954 in Ipsden, South Oxfordshire, he began his career in commercials before moving into television and film, working as a location manager, assistant director, production manager and production supervisor on titles including *The French Lieutenant's Woman*, *The Killing Fields* and *The Princess Bride*.

He produced several films directed by or starring Kenneth Branagh, among them *In the Bleak Midwinter* (1995), *Hamlet* (1996) and *Love's Labour's Lost* (2000). Barron is best known for his work on the *Harry Potter* series, serving as executive producer or producer on *Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix* (2007), *Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince* (2009), *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1* (2010) and *Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2* (2011), as well as later films such as *Cinderella* (2015) and *The Legend of Tarzan* (2016). He has received a BAFTA Award.
