## Biography

David Boeddinghaus is an American pianist and composer. He studied piano in his hometown of New York City and graduated in 1983 from Indiana University with a master’s degree in classical performance. Shortly afterwards he moved to New Orleans, where he joined singer and bandleader Banu Gibson as her band pianist and music director, a role he continues to hold.

Boeddinghaus has performed widely with Gibson at concerts, festivals and jazz parties. He has also appeared with the Boston Pops, on *A Prairie Home Companion* and at the Hollywood Bowl, and accompanied Leon Redbone on *The Tonight Show*. He served as musical director and pianist for the 1995 documentary *Crumb* and as music director and pianist for the stage musical *Looking for Josephine*.
