## Biography

David Chung Chi-Man (also credited as Chung Chi-Man) is a Hong Kong cinematographer and occasional director. He began as a camera assistant at the Shaw Brothers studio in 1964, became a television cinematographer in 1968 and joined TVB in 1973. His first feature credit was on *For Whom to be Murdered* (1978).

He is known for his work on films including *The Secret* (1979), *An Autumn's Tale* (1987), *Painted Faces* (1988), *God of Gamblers* (1989), *Once Upon a Time in China* (1991), *King of Beggars* (1992) and *Flirting Scholar* (1993). Chung won Best Cinematography at the Golden Horse Awards for *The Secret* and *Painted Faces*, and at the Hong Kong Film Awards for *An Autumn's Tale*. He served as vice-chairman of the Hong Kong Society of Cinematographers from 1989 and emigrated to the United States in 1995.
