## Biography

David Collings (4 June 1940 – 23 March 2020) was an English actor whose career spanned stage, television and film. He began acting professionally with the Liverpool Repertory Theatre in the early 1960s and made his television debut in a 1964 production of Crime and Punishment.

He appeared in numerous science-fiction series, including three roles in Doctor Who and as Silver in Sapphire & Steel. Film credits include Bob Cratchit in Scrooge (1970) and the Governor in The Invisible Woman (2013). He was also a mainstay of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
