## Biography

David Cryan is an American writer. He wrote the episode 'Undercover Burns' for the thirty-second season of the animated series *The Simpsons*, first broadcast in 2020.

Cryan contacted showrunner Al Jean via Twitter and submitted sample scripts. Jean was sufficiently impressed to offer him a place on the writing staff, but visa difficulties meant Cryan, who lives in Ontario, Canada, could not accept. He was instead commissioned to write the episode as a freelancer. It was his first television credit.

Cryan has written several short films, including *The Tupperware Party* (2020) and *The Most Viral Video of All Time* (2024), and episodes of the series *Business Inc* (2021).
