## Biography

David Daker (29 September 1935 – 30 April 2026) was an English character actor. Born in Bilston, Staffordshire, he appeared in numerous television series from the 1960s onwards, including a regular role as PC Owen Culshaw in Z Cars and guest parts in Coronation Street, Porridge and Only Fools and Horses.

He is best known for playing Harry Crawford, the entrepreneurial friend of the title character, in the ITV comedy-drama Boon (1986–1992, with a final episode in 1995). Other credits include appearances in Doctor Who (as Irongron and Captain Rigg), Midsomer Murders, The Woman in Black and the film Time Bandits (1981). He also had an early role as Mr Brent in Rising Damp (1977).
