## Biography

David Eggby is an English-born Australian cinematographer. Born in London in 1950, he moved to Melbourne as a child. He began his career as a photographer with the Royal Australian Navy before working for Australian television production company Crawford Productions on series such as *Homicide* and *Matlock Police*.

Eggby made his feature film debut as director of photography on *Mad Max* (1979). He went on to shoot numerous films including *Quigley Down Under* (1990), *Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story* (1993), *Dragonheart* (1996), *Blue Streak* (1999), *Pitch Black* (2000), *Scooby-Doo* (2002), *EuroTrip* (2004), *The Marine* (2006) and *Riddick* (2013). He has received multiple awards from the Australian Cinematographers Society, including Cinematographer of the Year in 2001 for *Pitch Black*, and was inducted into the ACS Hall of Fame in 2012.
