## Biography

David Fisher was a British television screenwriter. He wrote four serials for *Doctor Who* during the Fourth Doctor era: *The Stones of Blood* (1978), *The Androids of Tara* (1978), *The Creature from the Pit* (1979) and *The Leisure Hive* (1980). He also provided the original storyline for *City of Death* (1979), which was substantially reworked by Douglas Adams and Graham Williams and broadcast under the pseudonym David Agnew.

Fisher novelised *The Creature from the Pit* and *The Leisure Hive* for the Target Books range, and later adapted his other *Doctor Who* stories for audiobook releases. His other television credits include episodes of *Dixon of Dock Green*, *Crown Court* and *Hammer House of Horror*. In later years he collaborated with former *Doctor Who* script editor Anthony Read on several non-fiction books about the Second World War.
