## Biography

David Golden (1907–1985) was an American production manager and producer who worked on numerous feature films and television productions from the 1960s to the 1980s. He began his career in the film industry as a chief electrician before moving into production roles.

He served as associate producer on *Shaft* (1971) and executive producer on *Love Story* (1970). His production management credits include *Kramer vs. Kramer* (1979), *Fame* (1980), *The Cotton Club* (1984) and *Endless Love* (1981). Golden also worked as associate producer on *Shaft's Big Score!* (1972) and *The Education of Sonny Carson* (1974).

In 1982 he received the Directors Guild of America's Frank Capra Award for service to the industry. He taught filmmaking at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and at Marylhurst College in Oregon.
