## Biography

David Loughery was an American screenwriter and film producer. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he attended Ball State University and earned an MFA from the University of Iowa, where he participated in the Iowa Playwrights Workshop.

His first produced screenplay was *Dreamscape* (1984). He received sole screenplay credit and shared story credit on *Star Trek V: The Final Frontier* (1989). Other credits include *Passenger 57* (1992), *The Three Musketeers* (1993), *Money Train* (1995), *Lakeview Terrace* (2008) and *Obsessed* (2009). He collaborated frequently with director Joseph Ruben and also worked as a producer on several films.

Loughery died of skin cancer in St. Petersburg, Florida, in 2024.
