## Biography

David M. Dunlap is an American cinematographer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art (now the University of the Arts) with a BFA in film. He began his career in New York City as a focus puller on features including Martin Scorsese’s *After Hours* (1985) and the Coen brothers’ *Raising Arizona* (1987).

Dunlap worked extensively as a camera operator and second unit director of photography on films such as *GoodFellas* (1990), *Bram Stoker’s Dracula* (1992), *Forrest Gump* (1994) and *A Beautiful Mind* (2001), often alongside cinematographer Michael Ballhaus. He served as director of photography on *Shaun of the Dead* (2004), *The Calcium Kid* (2004) and *Game 6* (2006).

In television, Dunlap has been director of photography on series including *Gossip Girl* (2009–2012), *House of Cards* (2016–2018) and episodes of *Orange Is the New Black* (2019). He was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Single-Camera Series for *House of Cards*.
