David Newhouse was a British writer and film editor. Born on 23 March 1919 in England, he died on 21 June 1987 in Malibu, California.

He received a screenplay credit, alongside Alexander Jacobs and Rafe Newhouse, for the 1967 crime film *Point Blank*, directed by John Boorman and based on Donald E. Westlake’s novel *The Hunter*. He also wrote the screenplay for *Where’s Jack?* (1969) and contributed stories to two episodes of the television series *The Alaskans* (1960).

Newhouse worked extensively as an editor on dozens of film and television productions, including *Seconds* (1966) and *Julie* (1972). He received Emmy nominations for his editing work.
