David Selby is an American actor born on 5 February 1941 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He trained at West Virginia University and earned a PhD in theatre from Southern Illinois University.

He is known for playing Quentin Collins on the soap opera *Dark Shadows* (1968–1971) and Richard Channing on *Falcon Crest* (1982–1990). Later film roles include Gage in *The Social Network* (2010), Dean Buckley in *D3: The Mighty Ducks* (1996), and the voice of Commissioner Gordon in *Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1* (2012) and *Part 2* (2013).
