David Seltzer (born 12 February 1940) is an American screenwriter, producer and director. He was born in Highland Park, Illinois.

Seltzer wrote the screenplay for the supernatural horror film *The Omen* (1976). His other writing credits include *Prophecy* (1979), *Six Weeks* (1982), *Bird on a Wire* (1990), *My Giant* (1998) and *Dragonfly* (2002). He also contributed uncredited work to *Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory* (1971).

As a writer-director, his credits include *Lucas* (1986), *Punchline* (1988), *Shining Through* (1992) and *Nobody's Baby* (2001).
