## Biography

David Stenn is an American television writer, producer, biographer and film preservationist. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he graduated magna cum laude from Yale University and began his television career as the youngest writer hired for the NBC series *Hill Street Blues*, contributing teleplays in 1984–1985.

He later wrote for *The New Alfred Hitchcock Presents* (1985–1986), *21 Jump Street*, *Beverly Hills, 90210* (where he also served as supervising producer and created the character Dylan McKay), *The L Word* and *Boardwalk Empire* (writer and supervising producer, 2012). His feature credit includes the screenplay for *Cool as Ice* (1991).

Stenn is the author of the biographies *Clara Bow: Runnin’ Wild* (1988) and *Bombshell: The Life and Death of Jean Harlow* (1993), both edited by Jacqueline Onassis. He also wrote and directed the documentary *Girl 27* (2007).
