## Biography

David Wain is an American comedian, writer, actor and director. Born on 1 August 1969 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, he graduated from New York University in 1991. He was a founding member of the sketch comedy troupe The State and later of Stella, with Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black.

Wain co-wrote and directed the feature films *Wet Hot American Summer* (2001), *Role Models* (2008) and *Wanderlust* (2012). He has directed episodes of television series including *Party Down* (2009) and created and directed *Childrens Hospital* (2008–2016). He has also acted in films such as *Role Models* and provided voices for *Bob's Burgers* and *American Dad!*.
