## Biography

David West Read is a Canadian television writer, playwright and producer. He joined the writing staff of the sitcom *Schitt's Creek* in 2015 and later became an executive producer on its final two seasons.

Read created and served as showrunner on the Apple TV+ series *The Big Door Prize* (2023). He is the creator of the upcoming comedy series *Brothers* (2026). He also wrote the book for the musical *& Juliet*, which premiered in the West End in 2019 and later transferred to Broadway.

A graduate of the University of Toronto, New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and the Juilliard School's playwrights programme, Read is a native of Scarborough, Ontario.
