## Biography

David Westhead is an English actor. He was born on 1 June 1963 in Ely, Cambridgeshire. He studied drama at the University of Bristol before training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1987, and then joined the Actors' Touring Company.

Westhead has appeared in numerous television series including regular roles in *The Bill*, *Criminal Justice*, *W1A* and *Life Begins*, and guest roles in *Doctor Who* (as William Kempe), *Midsomer Murders*, *Agatha Christie's Poirot* and *Andor* (as Admiral Daysar). His film credits include *Mrs Brown* (1997, as Bertie, Prince of Wales), *Wilde* (1997, as Edward Carson), *The Iron Lady* (2011) and *Enola Holmes 2* (2022, as Henry Lyon). He has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Court Theatre, and co-founded the production company Wilton Pictures in 2002.
