## Biography

Dean Edward Mitzner was an American production designer and art director. He began in the art department as a set designer on films including *The Day of the Locust* (1975) before advancing to art direction and production design roles.

His feature credits include production design on *Big Wednesday* (1978), *1941* (1979), *Nine to Five* (1980), *Looker* (1981), *Tron* (1982) and *The Man with One Red Shoe* (1985). On television he served as production designer for series such as *The Flash* (1990), *Homefront* (1991–1993), *Burke's Law* (1994–1995), *Savannah* (1996–1997) and *Charmed* (1998–1999).

Mitzner received a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding individual achievement in art direction for a series for *Homefront* (1993) and two further Emmy nominations.
