## Biography

Dean Young is an American television writer and producer. He graduated from Hofstra University with a B.A. in 1985 and an M.A. in 1987, then moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in sitcom writing. His early work included writing for dating and game shows, culminating in producing the MTV series *Singled Out*.

Young’s staff writing and producing credits include *Mad About You* (1998–1999), *King of the Hill* (2000–2004, as writer, executive story editor, co-producer, producer and supervising producer), and *The Drew Carey Show* (2004, as writer and co-executive producer). He later contributed as a writer and co-executive producer on *Community* (2015) and wrote the feature film *Lovesick* (2014). He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on *King of the Hill*.
