Joseph Deems Taylor (22 December 1885 – 3 July 1966) was an American composer, music critic and radio commentator. Born in New York City, he composed operas including *The King's Henchman* (1927) and *Peter Ibbetson* (1929), both staged at the Metropolitan Opera, as well as orchestral works.

Taylor served as musical advisor on the Disney film *Fantasia* (1940) and appeared on screen as narrator for the narrative introductions. He also featured in the documentary *Of Men and Music* (1951) and the short *There's Magic in Music* (1941).
