Denis Carey (3 August 1909 – 28 September 1986) was a British actor and director. Born in London, he appeared in numerous film and television roles and worked extensively in theatre, including as director of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre Company from 1949 to 1954.

His stage work included directing productions for the Bristol Old Vic and tours; his biggest box-office success was the revue *Salad Days*, which ran for 2,283 performances in the 1954–55 London season. On screen he is known for roles such as Casson in *The Day of the Jackal* (1973), Livy in *I, Claudius* (1976), Docholli in *Blake's 7* (1978), and appearances in *Doctor Who*.

Carey was married to actress Yvonne Coulette. He died in London.
