## Biography

Derek Frankowski is a Canadian cinematographer, director and producer. He began his career as a photographer specialising in action sports, particularly mountain biking, with his first published work appearing in 1998.

Frankowski directed the mountain biking documentary *Life Cycles* (2010), on which he also served as cinematographer and producer. His subsequent cinematography credits include the BBC series *Planet Earth II* (2016), for which he received a Primetime Emmy as part of the team, *Grasslands: North America's Hidden Wilderness* (2019) and episodes of *The Nature of Things* and *Terra Mater*.
