## Biography

Derek Holt is a British composer and musician. A founder member of the Climax Blues Band, he has written and performed on multiple albums with the group and contributed songs to film soundtracks.

Holt co-composed the score for the 1992 neo-noir crime film *One False Move*, directed by Carl Franklin and starring Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton, with Peter Haycock. The music, which also includes orchestral underscore by Terry Plumeri, received a nomination for Best Original Score at the 1993 Independent Spirit Awards.

His other credits include additional music and theme songs for the animated series *Star Wars: Droids* (1985–1986), original music for the television series *Bill Bryson: Notes from a Small Island* (1999), and songs featured in films such as *Zack and Miri Make a Porno* (2008) and *The Nice Guys* (2016).
