## Biography

Derek Norman Twist (1905–1979), sometimes credited as Derek N. Twist or D. N. Twist, was a British film editor, screenwriter and director. He worked at British Gaumont during the 1930s.

As an editor his credits include *The 39 Steps* (1935) and *The Edge of the World* (1937). He later directed and wrote several films, including *All Over the Town* (1949) and *Prescription for Murder* (1958). He was married to actress and stage director Vida Hope until her death in 1963.
