Dermott Downs is an American television director, cinematographer, actor and producer. Born on 25 May 1962 in Los Angeles County, California, he began his career as a child actor, appearing in films including *Escape to Witch Mountain* (1975) and *Freaky Friday* (1976).

He later worked as a cinematographer on series such as *CSI: Miami* and *The Tomorrow People* before moving into directing. His directing credits include multiple episodes of *The Flash* (2014–2017), *Arrow* (2012), *Supergirl* (2015), *Gotham* (2014), *Criminal Minds* (2005), *Chucky* (2021) and *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds* (2022).

Downs has directed musical episodes of *The Flash* and *Star Trek: Strange New Worlds*, the latter being the franchise's first musical instalment.
