## Biography

Desira Pesta is an American costume designer. She holds a BFA in Painting from Syracuse University and a Masters in Costume Design from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. She began in the entertainment industry through body doubling and stunt work on productions including *Boardwalk Empire* and *Birdman*, before moving into costume design. She is a member of I.A.T.S.E. Local USA 829.

Pesta's credits as costume designer include *Stay Awake* (2022), *Sing Sing* (2023, released 2024) and *Damned If You Do* (2025). Her work on *Sing Sing* involved sourcing and ageing prison uniforms, informed by conversations with formerly incarcerated cast members. Earlier in her career she ran an ethically produced fashion line in Brooklyn for ten years.
