## Biography

Dewayne Perkins is an American comedian, writer, actor and producer. Born in Chicago on 5 November 1990, he trained in improv at The Second City and iO Theater, and studied at DePaul University.

Perkins joined the writing staff for season seven of *Brooklyn Nine-Nine* (2013), later serving as writer and producer on the series. His other writing credits include *The Break with Michelle Wolf*, the *Saved by the Bell* reboot and *The Amber Ruffin Show*, for which he received a Primetime Emmy nomination. He co-wrote and starred in the horror-comedy film *The Blackening* (2023).

As an actor, Perkins has appeared in recurring roles on *Saved by the Bell* (2020) as Ray and *The Upshaws* (2021) as Hector, and in *The Studio* (2025) as Tyler.
