## Biography

Diane Holland (28 February 1930 – 24 January 2009) was an Australian-born British actress and dancer. She trained as a dancer at the London Cone-Ripman school (now ArtsEd) and appeared in West End productions from the late 1940s, including *Her Excellency* (1949) and *Fancy Free* (1951), as well as variety and summer seasons.

She was best known for playing ballroom dancer Yvonne Stuart-Hargreaves in the BBC sitcom *Hi-de-Hi!* (1980–88). The part was written for her by her brother-in-law Jimmy Perry, who had married her sister Gilda. Earlier television work included a recurring role as Sarah Maynard in *Crossroads* (1966–70) and appearances in *Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em* and *Tales of the Unexpected* (1979) as Blanche Cutler. Later credits included *Grace & Favour* (1992–93) and a final television role in *Casualty* (2001). She lived in Godstone, Surrey.
