## Biography

Diederick Santer is a British television producer. He was born on 3 July 1969 in Cambridge, England. He graduated from the University of Leeds and began his career in the mid-1990s as a script reader and editor before joining BBC Drama in 2000.

Santer produced the BBC series *Cutting It* (2002–2004) and episodes of the anthology *ShakespeaRe-Told* (2005), including adaptations of *Much Ado About Nothing* and *The Taming of the Shrew*. He served as executive producer of *EastEnders* from October 2006 to March 2010. He later produced the 2006 adaptation of *Jane Eyre*.

In 2010 he founded the production company Lovely Day, which produced *Grantchester*. He was chief executive of Kudos from 2015 to 2019 and chief creative officer of BritBox International from 2021 until stepping down from the full-time role in early 2023. He is the son of the late Bishop Mark Santer.
