## Biography

Dominic Lees is a British film and television director. London-born, he studied film in Poland under Krzysztof Zanussi and Krzysztof Kieślowski before completing postgraduate training at the Northern Film School in Leeds. He directed award-winning shorts including *The Nose* (1993) and *Borderland* (1994), the latter screened at the Venice Film Festival.

Lees directed episodes of series including *This Life* (1997), *The Bill* (1995–2003) and *Casualty* (1999–2006). His feature debut *Outlanders* (2007), which he also wrote, won awards at international festivals. He has worked as an associate producer on Channel 4 programmes and created multimedia work for opera.

Lees is Associate Professor in Filmmaking at the University of Reading, where his research focuses on generative AI and deepfakes in screen production.
