## Biography

Don Rhymer was an American screenwriter and film producer. Born in Union, South Carolina, he graduated from James Madison University in 1982 with a double major in English and communications.

He began his career writing for television series including *Coach*, *Evening Shade*, *Hearts Afire* and *Caroline in the City*. His feature film credits include the screenplays for *Big Momma's House* (2000), *The Santa Clause 2* (2002), *Surf's Up* (2007) and *Rio* (2011), as well as story contributions to *Ferdinand* (2017).

Rhymer died in Los Angeles on 28 November 2012.
