## Biography

Dorothy Kathleen Gulliver was an American actress. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, she began her career after winning a beauty contest sponsored by Universal Pictures and signed a contract with the studio in 1925. She appeared in silent serials and the long-running *The Collegians* series of shorts before becoming a leading lady in 1930s sound serials and Westerns, including *The Galloping Ghost* (1931), *The Shadow of the Eagle* (1932) and *Custer's Last Stand* (1936). She was named a WAMPAS Baby Star in 1928.

Gulliver had smaller roles in later years, including an appearance in *King Kong* (1933). She returned to a credited part as Florence in John Cassavetes's *Faces* (1968) and made her final screen appearance in *Won Ton Ton, the Dog Who Saved Hollywood* (1976). She died in Valley Center, California, in 1997.
