## Biography

Dorothy Tristan was an American actress and screenwriter. She made her film debut in *End of the Road* (1970) and played Arlyn Page in *Klute* (1971). Other film roles include Coley in *Scarecrow* (1973), Alice in *Swashbuckler* (1976), Helen in *Rollercoaster* (1977) and Dorothy in *Down and Out in Beverly Hills* (1986).

She began her career as a model and appeared on covers of *Vogue* and *Life*. Tristan wrote or co-wrote films including *Weeds* (1987), *Steal the Sky* (1988), *A Piece of Eden* (2000) and *Suspended Animation* (2001). She wrote and starred in *The Looking Glass* (2015), directed by her husband John D. Hancock, with whom she frequently collaborated. She also appeared in television series such as *The Incredible Hulk* (1977).

Born in New York City in 1934, Tristan died in La Porte, Indiana, in 2023.
