## Biography

Doug McKeon is an American actor who began his career as a child performer in the 1970s. Born on 10 June 1966 in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, he appeared in the daytime soap *The Edge of Night* and made his feature-film debut in *Uncle Joe Shannon* (1978), for which he received a Golden Globe nomination for best male motion picture debut.

McKeon is best known for playing Billy Ray in *On Golden Pond* (1981) opposite Henry Fonda and Katharine Hepburn. His other film roles include *Night Crossing* (1982) and *Mischief* (1985). He has worked extensively in television, with appearances in series such as *House* (2009), *Weeds* (2012), *Masters of Sex* (2013) and *Shameless* (2019), as well as the films *LBJ* (2017) and *I Spit on Your Grave III: Vengeance Is Mine* (2015). McKeon has also directed and written films, including *The Boys of Sunset Ridge* (2001) and *Come Away Home* (2005).
