## Biography

Doug Savant is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Matt Fielding in the Fox series *Melrose Place* (1992–97) and as Tom Scavo in the ABC series *Desperate Housewives* (2004–12).

Savant was born and raised in Burbank, California. He attended the University of California, Los Angeles, but left before graduating to pursue acting. His early film roles include appearances in *Teen Wolf* (1985) and *Trick or Treat* (1986). He later played Sergeant O'Neal in the 1998 film *Godzilla*.

In 1998, Savant married actress Laura Leighton, his co-star from *Melrose Place*. He has four children.
