## Biography

Douglas E. Wise, also credited as Doug Wise or Douglas Wise, is an American assistant director and occasional director. He began his career as second assistant director on *Star Trek: The Motion Picture* (1979) and worked as first assistant director on five of the first six Star Trek feature films: *Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan* (1982), *Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home* (1986), *Star Trek V: The Final Frontier* (1989) and *Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country* (1991).

Wise served as first assistant director on numerous other films including *The Final Countdown* (1980), *Grumpy Old Men* (1993), *The Mighty Ducks* (1992) and *Kung Pow: Enter the Fist* (2002). On television he worked in the same capacity on series such as *Babylon 5* (21 episodes, 1996–1998), *Freaks and Geeks* (1999–2000) and *Crusade* (1999). He directed one episode of *Trapper John, M.D.* and the *Babylon 5* episode 'The Fall of Centauri Prime' (1998).

He is the nephew of film director Robert Wise.
