## Biography

Douglas Milsome is an English cinematographer. Born in Hammersmith, London, in 1939, he began his career in the camera department and worked as a focus puller and camera operator on several Stanley Kubrick films, including *A Clockwork Orange* (1971), *Barry Lyndon* (1975) and *The Shining* (1980).

Following the death of cinematographer John Alcott in 1986, Milsome served as director of photography on Kubrick's *Full Metal Jacket* (1987). He later photographed *Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves* (1991), *Breakdown* (1997) and *Legionnaire* (1998), among other films. He is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers.

His son, Mark Milsome, was also a camera operator.
