## Biography

Douglas Watkinson is an English screenwriter, novelist and playwright. He has written hundreds of television scripts, including episodes of *Midsomer Murders* (from 1998), *Lovejoy* (from 1991) and *Boon* (from 1986). He also contributed to *Agatha Christie's Poirot*, *The Bill*, *Howards' Way* and *Forever Green*.

Watkinson trained at East 15 Acting School. He began his career writing plays for BBC television and later became script editor on series including *Z-Cars*. His stage plays include *The Dragon's Tail*, which ran in the West End. He has also written a series of crime novels featuring the detective Nathan Hawk.
