## Biography

Dove Cameron is an American actress and singer. Born Chloe Celeste Hosterman on 15 January 1996 in Bainbridge Island, Washington, she began acting in community theatre as a child and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 14 to pursue a career.

She rose to prominence playing dual title roles in the Disney Channel series *Liv and Maddie* (2013–2017), for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award. Cameron is also known for portraying Mal in the *Descendants* film series, beginning with the 2015 Disney Channel Original Movie *Descendants* and its sequels in 2017 and 2019. Her other credits include guest roles in *The Mentalist* (2012), *Shameless* (2012), and *Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.* (2018), as well as the films *Barely Lethal* (2015) and *Dumplin'* (2018).
