## Biography

Dub Taylor (1907–1994) was an American character actor. A vaudeville performer, he made his film debut as Ed Carmichael in Frank Capra's *You Can't Take It with You* (1938). He originated the comic sidekick Cannonball in *The Taming of the West* (1939) and played the role in more than fifty films over the following decade.

Taylor worked extensively in films and on television from the 1940s to the 1990s, often in Westerns but also in comedies. Notable roles include Ivan Moss in *Bonnie and Clyde* (1967), Reverend Wainscoat in *The Wild Bunch* (1969) and the saloon old-timer in *Back to the Future Part III* (1990). He was the father of actor Buck Taylor.
