## Biography

D'Urville Martin (1939–1984) was an American actor and director who worked in film and television. Born in New York City, he began his career in the mid-1960s with small roles in *Black Like Me* (1964) and *Guess Who's Coming to Dinner* (1967), in which he played Frankie.

Martin appeared regularly in 1970s blaxploitation films, including *Rosemary's Baby* (1968) as Diego, *Black Caesar* (1973) as Reverend Rufus, *Hell Up in Harlem* (1973), *Boss Nigger* (1975) and *Sheba, Baby* (1975). He also directed *Dolemite* (1975), in which he played Willie Green, and *Disco 9000* (1977). His television credits include guest roles in series such as *The Monkees* and *The Invaders*.
