## Biography

E. J. Koh is a writer, poet and translator. She earned an MFA in creative writing and literary translation from Columbia University and has been a PhD candidate at the University of Washington, where she has studied Korean American literature, history and film.

Koh is the author of the memoir *The Magical Language of Others* (2020), which won the Washington State Book Award, the Pacific Northwest Book Award and the Association of Asian American Studies Book Award, and was longlisted for the PEN Open Book Award. Her poetry collection *A Lesser Love* appeared in 2017, and her debut novel *The Liberators* was published in 2023. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, MacDowell and other organisations, and lives in Seattle.

In 2022 Koh served as a staff writer on all eight episodes of the first season of the Apple TV+ series *Pachinko* and received a writing credit on the episode “Chapter Four”.
