## Biography

Earl Cameron was a Bermudian actor who became one of the first black performers to star in British cinema. Born Earlston Jewitt Cameron on 8 August 1917 in Pembroke Parish, Bermuda, he moved to London during the Second World War and made his screen debut in *Pool of London* (1951).

He appeared in numerous films and television productions, including *Thunderball* (1965) as Pinder, *The Message* (1976) as An-Najashi, *Doctor Who* (1966) as Williams, *The Prisoner* (1967) as the Supervisor, *The Queen* (2006) as the Portrait Artist, and *Inception* (2010) as the Elderly Bald Man. Cameron played Zuwanie in *The Interpreter* (2005). He received a CBE in 2009 and died on 3 July 2020 in Warwickshire, England.
