## Biography

Earl Luick was an American costume designer. He was born on 13 March 1904 in Belding, Michigan, and died on 29 September 2003 in Riverhead, New York.

Luick began his film career as an extra in *Robin Hood* (1922). He showed costume sketches to designer Adrian, who employed him as an assistant on *The King of Kings* (1927). He went on to design costumes for numerous Warner Bros. productions in the late 1920s and early 1930s, including *Disraeli* (1929), *Little Caesar* (1931), *The Public Enemy* (1931) and *Cavalcade* (1933). He was sometimes credited as Karl Luick.

After a period away from the industry, Luick returned in the early 1940s to design for 20th Century Fox, with credits including *The Black Swan* (1942) and *The Ox-Bow Incident* (1943).
