## Biography

Ed Charles is a British director and producer specialising in natural history documentaries. He studied zoology at the University of Nottingham before completing a masters course in biological photographic and imaging at the same institution. He later worked as a cameraman in Bristol before progressing to producing and directing roles.

Charles directed an episode of the BBC series *Planet Earth II* (2016). He has also directed episodes of *A Perfect Planet* (2021) and *Our Planet* (2023), and served as producer on several of these and related projects including *Our Planet* (2019).
