## Biography

Edmund Grainger (1906–1981) was an American film producer. He produced more than sixty films and occasionally worked as an assistant director. During the 1930s he was employed by Universal Pictures and later worked for RKO Radio Pictures during Howard Hughes's ownership of the studio.

Grainger was the son of film executive James D. Grainger. Among his credits are associate producer on *Sands of Iwo Jima* (1949) and producer on *The Racket* (1951), *Flying Leathernecks* (1951), *The Sheepman* (1958), *Never So Few* (1959), *Home from the Hill* (1960) and *Cimarron* (1960). His final credit was producer on *A Matter of Time* (1976).
