Edmund Lester Pearson (1880–1937) was an American librarian and writer. He specialised in the true crime genre and is best known for his accounts of the Lizzie Borden case.

Pearson was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard College and the New York State Library School. He worked as a librarian before publishing books on crime and editing others. In 1934 he went to Hollywood, where he contributed uncredited to the screenplays for the films *Bride of Frankenstein* (1935) and *Werewolf of London* (1935).
